Oslo Airport, Gardermoen (IATA: OSL, ICAO: ENGM) is located in Gardermoen in Ullensaker, Norway, 50 km north of Oslo, and is a modern, international airport with two runways. It is a hub of Braathens and a focus city for Scandinavian Airlines System (Braathens is now part of the Norwegian part of Scandinavian Airlines System - together they form SAS Braathens).In addition to the European route E6, the connection to Oslo is via a high-speed train service (Flytoget) which takes just over 20 minutes for the journey to Oslo's central station (Oslo S).
Gardermoen was adopted from a WWII airfield. Gardermoen took over as the main Oslo airport on 8 October 1998, when Fornebu airport was closed. The transfer happened overnight, and was a major operation.
